Department Overview

At Motorola Solutions, our Unified Communications portfolio is defining the future of broadband push-to-talk. WAVE PTX is our premier Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) SaaS solution, empowering the global commercial workforce.
Reporting into our Product Management & Operations leadership, we are seeking a highly operational, execution-driven Product Manager to own the delivery and lifecycle management of the WAVE PTX software portfolio. In this role, you will act as the critical bridge between our Product Strategy leaders and our Engineering teams. You will be responsible for taking the strategic product vision and driving it through the development lifecycle, ensuring our engineering teams deliver high-quality software on time, and that our Go-To-Market teams are fully equipped for flawless commercial launches.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution & Backlog Management: Partner with our Vertical Product Strategy leaders to ingest their product requirements and translate them into deeply detailed, actionable development plans, Epics, and sprint backlogs for engineering.

  • Release Orchestration: Own the software release cadence for WAVE PTX. Drive cross-functional execution across engineering, QA, and operations to ensure timely, defect-free software drops that meet our SaaS commitments.

  • In-Market & Lifecycle Management: Act as the primary operational product owner for the live WAVE PTX platform. Manage sustaining engineering priorities, technical debt resolution, and critical customer escalations to ensure high system reliability and customer retention.

  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Readiness: Spearhead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for all WAVE PTX releases. Ensure marketing, sales enablement, support, and billing systems are fully prepared before a feature goes live.

  • Agile Bottleneck Resolution: Serve as the daily unblocker for the engineering teams. Proactively identify dependencies, capacity constraints, and technical risks, ruthlessly clearing obstacles to maintain high engineering velocity.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor post-launch product performance, tracking software adoption rates, system stability metrics, and operational costs, feeding this data back to the strategy teams to inform future roadmaps.

  • Execution Expertise: Deep mastery of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies. You excel at turning high-level strategic visions into granular engineering tasks.

  • Tool Fluency: Advanced proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Productboard, Aha!, or similar product delivery and ticketing systems.

  • Technical Acumen: Strong ability to communicate deeply technical concepts between engineering architects and commercial business leaders.

  • Operational Rigor: A relentless focus on process, predictability, and quality control. You thrive in structured environments and excel at holding cross-functional teams accountable to deadlines.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Exceptional ability to influence, acting as the trusted operational partner to both Product Visionaries and Engineering Directors.
