Position: Tax Analyst, Lead
Location: Santa Monica, CA (Remote)
*Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000 USD annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Tax Analyst, Lead is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of federal, state, and international tax compliance filings while supporting the Company's overall tax function. This role manages key aspects of the tax calendar to ensure all filing deadlines and tax-related obligations are met, prepares and supports the annual income tax provision under ASC 740, assists with the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation, and supports tax planning and audit activities as needed. The Senior Tax Accountant partners closely with internal stakeholders across finance, accounting, legal, and operations to provide timely, accurate, and practical tax guidance and information that supports business decision-making. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Tax Analyst, Lead, will prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and related workpapers, as well as prepare and coordinate international tax filings and information returns, including applicable U.S. international reporting forms. They will assist with external audit requests related to income taxes and support the annual financial statement audit process, as well as prepare and support the annual and interim income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, tax account reconciliations, and related disclosures. WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have a background in Accounting, Finance, or related field, as well as working experience in corporate tax, preferably in a multinational organization. They must have strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and ASC 740 accounting for income taxes, as well as experience with international tax reporting requirements and transfer pricing concepts. They will have prior hands-on experience with Corptax Domestic Compliance, International Compliance, and Provision modules or similar tax compliance software, and have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis, and reconciliation of large data sets. - Maintain and monitor the tax compliance calendar, ensuring timely completion of all filing and payment obligations.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and review of transfer pricing documentation and support intercompany compliance requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and reconcile financial and tax data from multiple sources to support tax reporting and compliance.
- Support tax audits and inquiries from federal, state, local, and foreign tax authorities.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax-related reporting and documentation.
- Research tax issues and evaluate the impact of new tax laws and regulations on the organization.
- Provide prompt, accurate, and business-focused responses to tax-related inquiries from internal stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within the tax function
WHAT YOU BRING:
