JOB MISSION:
The Team Sports Custom Uniform Apparel Developer is responsible for leading the development and commercialization of customized team sports uniforms, ensuring products are developed efficiently and are production-ready for the markets. This role collaborates closely with Design, Product Management, Technical Design, Sourcing, Digital, and Domestic and Overseas Vendor partners to deliver innovative, high-quality uniforms that meet customer requirements, performance expectations, cost targets, and delivery timelines. The Developer manages the product lifecycle from concept through production, establishing style-specific customization requirements, and ensuring accurate communication of all garment level details throughout the development process.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop new products, silhouettes, and customization options that align with market trends and athlete performance needs.
Owner of Buy Readiness through bill of materials (BOM’s) maintenance and finalization.
Coordinates the product creation cycle from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned styles to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.
Coordinate team-specific customization requirements, including logos, numbers, names, embroidery, screen printing, heat transfers, sublimation, and embellishments.
Ensure artwork placement, branding standards, and customization requirements are accurately executed.
Collaborate with Design, Digital, and Product Management teams to achieve desired aesthetic and performance outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Product Development, Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, or a related field preferred.
3-7+ years of apparel product development or operations experience, preferably in sportswear, athletic uniforms, performance apparel, or team sports products.
Experience managing custom apparel programs and embellishment processes
Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Smart Sheet
Knowledge of sublimation, screen printing, embroidery, heat transfer, and other customization techniques.
Familiarity with performance fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes.
