About this position: 

The Financial Wellness Specialist supports the delivery and continuous improvement of financial wellness programs, coaching initiatives, and educational resources. Through collaboration, relationship-building, content development, and participant support, this role helps empower individuals to build confidence, improve financial well-being, and achieve their goals. 

What you’ll do: 

Program Development & Delivery 

• Implement financial wellness initiatives that align with participant needs and organizational goals. 
• Serve as a subject matter expert in financial wellness and financial education, leading workshops, presentations, and educational programs.
• Evaluate program outcomes and participant feedback to identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of program quality, expansion, and effectiveness. 

Relationship Management & Engagement 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders that support financial wellness initiatives.
• Promote awareness and utilization of financial wellness programs, services, and resources. 
• Represent LMCU as a financial wellness ambassador and trusted resource, advocating for financial empowerment while connecting individuals with appropriate resources and support. 

Training & Quality Assurance 

• Coach and support employees by delivering financial wellness initiatives, maintaining quality standards and best practices for participant-centered financial education.
• Develop train-the-trainer materials that prepare others to confidently deliver financial wellness programming, leading to increased organizational capacity and consistency.  

Content & Resource Development 

• Research emerging financial wellness trends and participant needs to inform future programming. 
• Create, update, and maintain educational materials and resources, presentations, facilitator resources, coaching tools, participant handouts, and digital financial wellness platforms.  
• Ensure content aligns with organizational objectives, branding standards, and educational best practices. 

Planning & Program Impact 

• Monitor participation, engagement feedback, and outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. 
• Support strategic initiatives that increase the reach, quality, and impact of financial wellness programs. 
• Explore innovative approaches, resources, and delivery methods that advance team goals. 

Employee & Member Financial Wellness Focus 

• Support financial coaching services and initiatives that help LMCU employees and members achieve their financial goals, including workshops, resources, and engagement activities, while increasing awareness and utilization.
• Partner with business units, branch leadership, and employee resource groups to identify financial wellness needs and opportunities. 
• Develop specialized expertise in workplace financial wellness, financial behavior change, coaching, and adult education.

• Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

What you’ll bring:

• 3-5 years of previous experience in program development, education, coaching, community engagement, financial services, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, education, communications, psychology, community development, or a related field required.
• Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation, preferred.
• Experience developing and delivering educational programs for varied audiences, supporting employee and/or member engagement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and using feedback or data to improve program effectiveness preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to simplify financial concepts for non-expert audiences.  
• Ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse groups including students, educators, community leaders, and LMCU members and staff. 
• Strong public speaking and group facilitation abilities.  
• Analytical thinking to interpret data and adjust programming based on impact.  
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
