Role Description

The Brand Manager is a strategic and results-driven marketing professional responsible for leading the development and execution of brand strategies across pharmaceutical and/or vaccine portfolios. This role drives brand awareness, adoption, and business growth through deep market understanding, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.

Operating in a complex, highly regulated environment, the Brand Manager partners with Medical, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, and other internal and external stakeholders to shape go-to-market strategies, manage product launches, and optimize brand performance throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with pragmatic execution skills, bringing innovation and rigor to every stage of brand development.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Planning

  • Manage and execute brand strategy to drive awareness, market adoption, and business growth across the product portfolio.

  • Develop comprehensive end-to-end brand and innovation journeys, including positioning, target audience definition, and key message development.

  • Support annual brand planning, budget development, and monthly forecasting processes.

  • Lead demand planning and financial discipline across brand-related investments.

  • Drive lifecycle management strategy for both in-line and pre-launch products.

Market Insights & Performance

  • Generate high-quality market insights through research, competitive analysis, and customer understanding to inform brand strategy.

  • Monitor brand performance using market trends, customer feedback, competitor actions, and key business metrics.

  • Identify and act on opportunities to optimize messaging, campaigns, and channel mix based on performance insights.

  • Track program and campaign performance against defined KPIs; deliver regular progress reports and recommendations to leadership.

  • Support segmentation, targeting, and positioning optimization throughout the brand lifecycle.

Launch & Go-to-Market Execution

  • Drive launch readiness planning, including market shaping, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of commercial tools and materials.

  • Build and align go-to-market plans with cross-functional teams including Medical, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, and Legal.

  • Plan and execute promotional activities, including campaign development, media strategy, and events.

  • Design and deploy innovative programs and briefing materials to drive excellent field-team execution.

  • Engage closely with field teams through briefing sessions and regular touchpoints to ensure effective onboarding and program deployment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

  • Partner with Medical, Brand Director, Field, and other cross-functional teams to ensure strong alignment and execution excellence.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and other internal functions to maintain standards and governance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external customers, vendors, and ecosystem partners.

  • Ensure all marketing activities are compliant with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

  • Ensure consistency of approach within the customer marketing team and alignment across all stakeholders.

Budget & Project Management

  • Oversee brand budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective execution.

  • Own project management across brand and innovation programs, maintaining delivery against agreed milestones.

  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure delivery within scope and budget.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Pharmacy, Medicine, Marketing, or related field.

  • MBA is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry in similar roles.

  • Minimum 3–6 years of experience in product management, brand management, or marketing.

  • Experience in vaccines, oncology, specialty care, or related therapeutic areas.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams including Medical, Sales, and Market Access.

  • Proven track record in new products or new indication launches.

  • At least 1 year of sales management background preferred.

  • Management consulting or internal strategic planning experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills including business, financial, and performance data analysis.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong project management and operational execution skills.

  • Thorough understanding of the healthcare industry, including pharmaceutical and/or medical device markets.

  • Good understanding of business and product knowledge with strong marketing sense.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Good command of AI tools applied to marketing and business contexts.

  • Fluency in English (oral and written); any other language proficiency is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel frequently.

Desired Skills

  • Biologics experience; background in solid tumors, hematologic tumors, or lymphatic system tumors.

  • Experience in multinational or large pharmaceutical organizations.

  • Expertise in omnichannel marketing, digital projects, or healthcare insurance programs.

  • Experience with innovation program design and deployment.

  • Digital marketing and campaign design skills.

  • Agility and adaptability in fast-changing market environments.

  • Asset management and product lifecycle management (PLM) expertise.

  • Commercial excellence and customer-oriented mindset.

  • Strategic alliance and ecosystem partner management.

  • Experience in consumer marketing within the healthcare/vaccines sector.

  • Strong influencing skills and ability to drive alignment across organizational levels.
