About This Role:

As the Associate for Strategy & New Product Planning, you will hold a pivotal role in shaping the future of Biogen UK & Ireland. Reporting to the New Products & Strategic Planning Lead, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of strategic initiatives, including new product planning, affiliate strategy, and business improvement projects.

This role offers significant visibility across the organization, allowing you to work closely with colleagues from various functions such as Medical, Value & Access, Regulatory, Finance, External Affairs, and Commercial, while also interacting with regional and global teams. Through your analytical support, project coordination, and strategic problem-solving skills, you will contribute to the UK & Ireland affiliate’s growth priorities, ultimately influencing decisions that benefit patients.

This position is ideal for an intellectually curious and proactive individual eager to accelerate their development in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will gain exposure to senior leaders, strategic decision-making processes, and cross-functional collaboration, all while building valuable skills in strategic planning, business analysis, and project delivery.

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 50% on site office attendance per week in Maidenhead.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support analytical work related to new product planning, launch readiness, and strategic business priorities.

  • Conduct market and competitor assessments to aid decision making.

  • Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams and track progress against key milestones and deliverables.

  • Support the identification and monitoring of project risks, dependencies, and actions.

  • Contribute to strategic and enterprise-wide initiatives across the UK & Ireland affiliate.

  • Assist with project planning, coordination, and execution activities across multiple workstreams.

  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources to inform strategic recommendations.

  • Maintain project plans, governance materials, and action trackers to ensure successful delivery.

  • Support the development of business cases, analyses, and strategic recommendations.

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.

  • Translate complex information into clear and actionable insights.

  • Coordinate content for leadership meetings, track actions, and follow up on deliverables.

Who You Are:

You are intellectually curious, proactive, and thrive on solving complex business challenges. You enjoy working with data, building structure in ambiguous situations, and collaborating across teams to deliver results. You are comfortable navigating uncertainty, working with incomplete information, and bringing clarity to complex problems. You take ownership, possess a strong learning mindset, and are energized by working in an environment where priorities can evolve. You combine strong analytical thinking with excellent organizational and communication skills. Above all, you are passionate about healthcare and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact for patients.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Health Economics or a related field.

  • Professional experience in consulting, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, or another analytical and fast-paced environment required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, structuring complex problems, and identifying practical solutions with limited direction.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Passion for the pharmaceutical industry and improving outcomes for patients.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working on strategic planning, business transformation, product launch, market analysis, or commercial excellence initiatives.

  • Experience preparing presentations, analyses, and recommendations for senior leadership audiences.

  • Exposure to cross-functional project environments requiring stakeholder management.
