PRN HOSPICE MUSIC THERAPIST
Make a Difference Through the Power of Music
Allegiant Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Music Therapist to join our hospice care team.
As a Hospice Music Therapist, you will use music to bring comfort, connection, peace, and meaningful moments to patients and families during one of life’s most important journeys.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide individualized music therapy to hospice patients based on their needs, preferences, and goals
- Use music to support comfort, relaxation, emotional expression, reminiscence, and quality of life
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, aides, and other members of the interdisciplinary hospice team
- Support patients and families with compassionate, person-centered care
- Complete appropriate documentation related to music therapy visits
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate and comfortable working with patients facing end-of-life needs
- Dependable, flexible, and able to work independently
- An excellent communicator and collaborative team member
- Passionate about using music to create meaningful experiences for patients and families
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy from an accredited/approved music therapy program.
- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential through the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT), or eligible to obtain certification within an established timeframe.
- Completion of required clinical internship/training in music therapy.
- Previous experience in hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, home health, or healthcare preferred, but not necessarily required.
- Ability to assess patient needs and develop individualized music therapy interventions and goals.
- Comfortable providing services to patients with advanced illness and end-of-life needs and supporting their families.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the hospice interdisciplinary team.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance as required for traveling to patient homes/facilities.
