The Senior Exciters & LCI Services Technical Team Lead is the SCS — Gas Power technical authority for GE Vernova Excitation and LCI (Static Starter) products. The role drives NPI services readiness, owns the Certification & Qualification programme for L1–L3 Field Engineers, and supports FOAK installations and Critical Customer Issue Resolution (CIR) across the global field services organisation.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Technical Authority
- Serve as the hub of knowledge for Excitation (EX2100e, EX2100, EX2000) and LCI/Static Starter (LS2100e, LS2100) products across L1–L3 field services teams globally
- Provide technical direction and guidance to field resources across installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrade activities on power turbine generator excitation and LCI systems
- Oversee software and hardware design readiness for key customer projects, including pre-shipment reviews and customer site visits for installation quality assurance and business improvement feedback
- Contribute to strategy and policy development, ensuring delivery within the Exciters & LCI area of responsibility
NPI & Product Lifecycle
- Act as SCS services representative on Exciter and LCI NPI programmes; develop service manuals, support lab validation testing, and conduct field verification of final installed products
- Capture field lessons learned and integrate services feedback into continuous product improvement cycles
- Support global SCS communications for product notifications, service bulletins and sustaining updates
Certification, Training & Talent Development
- Develop and maintain a Certification & Qualification programme for Excitation and LCI Field Engineers, grounded in instructional design and competency-based skill development
- Deliver technical training sessions and certify Field Services Engineers across L1–L3 levels on Excitation and LCI platforms, ensuring the field engineer population maintains current and validated competency standards
- Mentor next-generation field services personnel and participate in FOAK installations, NPI mobilisations, and CIR engagements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain a global network of Excitation and LCI field services and engineering experts
- Influence across Engineering, Commercial, and Product Management teams without direct authority to align on service strategies and customer commitments
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; explain complex technical topics clearly and build consensus across functions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline; or equivalent technical experience at a substantive level
- Significant hands-on field services experience on GEV Excitation and LCI platforms (EX2100e, EX2100, EX2000, LS2100e, LS2100) — required
- Proven track record of FOAK installations, commissioning, and outage engagements on GEV Excitation and LCI systems
- Prior experience in a Tech Lead or senior technical advisory capacity within a field services organisation
- Experience developing and delivering technical certification and training programmes for field engineers
- Travel and Billable Time Target: Up to 50%
- Language: English required; additional languages desirable
