Job Description
Procurement Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing global procurement operations. They lead a diverse team, ensuring effective management and development of procurement strategies across international markets. Key responsibilities include optimizing supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and mitigating supply chain risks. They play a crucial role in strategic decision-making, aligning procurement initiatives with corporate goals to enhance operational effectiveness and profitability. Additionally, the Procurement Director fosters innovation in procurement processes and collaborates with senior leadership to drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage for the LEGO Group on a global scale.
Core Responsibilities:
• Category Management: Lead the development and execution of strategic category plans to drive cost savings, process efficiency, and performance optimization. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and leverage data to inform decisions and deliver long-term value.
• Strategic Sourcing: Design and implement advanced sourcing strategies through deep market knowledge and supplier insights. Drive value through cost-effective procurement solutions, while mentoring teams and aligning sourcing approaches with broader business objectives.
• Supplier Relationship Management & Strategic Partnering: Build and sustain high-impact supplier partnerships that foster innovation, enhance quality, and create long-term value. Strategically manage supplier performance, negotiate win-win agreements, and ensure alignment with LEGO's sustainability and operational goals
• Stakeholder Management: Engage, influence, and align diverse stakeholders to support procurement strategies and business outcomes. Promote collaboration across functions, communicate transparently, and build trusted relationships that drive sustained engagement and results
• Negotiation Skills: Lead complex negotiations using strategic insight and industry expertise to achieve favorable terms. Balance cost, quality, and innovation to support business priorities and build resilient, collaborative supplier relationships
• Project Management: Oversee global, cross-functional procurement initiatives from planning to execution. Ensure on-time delivery, effective risk management, and value creation by aligning projects with strategic goals and continuously improving performance
• Innovation: Champion a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities, leveraging emerging technologies, and challenging the status quo. Embed forward-thinking procurement practices to unlock value and strengthen competitive advantage
• Change Management: Lead organizational change within the procurement function, driving adoption of new systems, strategies, and ways of working. Foster resilience, ensure stakeholder alignment, and enable seamless transitions that support continuous improvement
• Digital Capability for Data Analytics & Business Intelligence: Harness digital tools and analytics to generate insights, inform procurement decisions, and optimize performance. Drive agility and efficiency by embedding data-driven approaches into procurement strategies
• Sustainability & Social Responsibility / Compliance:
Integrate sustainability and ethical considerations into procurement practices. Ensure compliance with regulations and LEGO Group standards while leading initiatives that promote responsible sourcing and supplier accountability.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks through robust assessment and mitigation strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure resilience, minimize disruptions, and safeguard business continuity
• Cost Transparency: Ensure clear visibility into cost structures and drivers across the procurement process. Leverage data to drive informed decision-making, optimize value, and enhance financial accountability.
