Role Overview: -
As a General Ledger Manager, you will lead key accounting activities that support accurate financial reporting and strong financial controls. This role is responsible for overseeing close processes, reconciliations, reporting, audit support and compliance activities while guiding a team and collaborating across finance functions to improve efficiency and quality. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to process enhancement and support a high-performing finance organisation.
Roles & Responsibility:
Job Goals: -
- Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end general ledger close activities, including journal entries, accruals and prepayments.
- Ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding variances.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends and support management reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities through the provision of documentation and responses to audit requests.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal control requirements.
- Partner with finance and business teams to gather information and support operational priorities.
- Improve general ledger processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy and service delivery.
Ideal skills and capabilities:
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Experience working with accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to guide teams, encourage collaboration and resolve challenges effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across multiple functions and priorities.
Capability Statement: -
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with 10 to 12 years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent experience.
- CA Inter with 10 to 12 years of experience in general ledger and audit, or MBA Finance with 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with accounting concepts, journal preparation and balance sheet schedule preparation.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and care.
- Exposure to SSC work culture and SNOW ticketing processes would be helpful.
