[What the role is]
[LTA-TRO] SENIOR/ EXECUTIVE UX/UI ENGINEER, TRAFFIC & ROAD IT[What you will be working on]
We are looking for a UX/UI Engineer to own, design, and scale the user experience powering our next-generation applications and digital services. In this role, you will bridge hands-on interface design with a deep understanding of user needs, working across agile squads to champion UX/UI best practices and ensure consistent, accessible, and intuitive product experiences.
You will drive the entire design lifecycle — from conducting upfront user research and aligning design specifications with stakeholders, to building robust prototypes and maintaining post-launch design quality. Beyond crafting visually compelling interfaces, you will ensure long-term design excellence by embedding rigorous usability testing, resolving experience gaps identified through user feedback, and maintaining comprehensive design documentation such as design systems, component libraries, and interaction guidelines.
[What we are looking for]
Knowledge in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in UX/UI design, front-end engineering, or a related discipline.
The following skills are mandatory: a foundational understanding of UX/UI design principles including user research, information architecture, and interaction design; proficiency in at least one design tool such as Figma or Adobe XD to build interactive prototypes, conduct user flows, and maintain design systems; basic experience conducting usability testing and translating findings into design improvements; and the ability to translate wireframes and high-fidelity mockups into semantic, responsive code using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
The following skills are advantageous: familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular; knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1; familiarity with the Singapore Government Design System (SGDS); exposure to CI/CD practices including SHIP-HATS; and familiarity with Government Digital Service standards and IM8 compliance requirements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute across the full product lifecycle from user research and accessibility audits to post-launch design iteration and front-end tracking, and a proactive and user-centric approach to problem-solving with a strong sense of ownership over interface quality and design consistency.
As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment.
