ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.  We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better.  It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

The Toowoomba Family Store warehouse is located Newtown, it services the Family Store, by assisting with sorting, deliveries and pick- up. Our Family store raises much need funds for our community programs and community members it also provides lower cost items for sale.

A number of our larger retail stores also have a distribution warehouse. This is where the organisational and logistical skills of Retail Warehouse Team Members are needed to assist in the smooth operation of the warehouse ensuring efficient, orderly and safe intake and storage of donated goods, as well as assist with managing waste and recycling.

Key responsibilities:

Quality control: Retail Warehouse Team Members initially inspect donated items, determining their appropriateness for sale, functionality and good presentation. Unsuitable items are sorted into recyclable or waste disposal areas.

Team Work: Work with the Retail Assistants and Sorters in bringing the saleable items out to the shop floor and help customers with bringing donations to the warehouse loading dock. Bring along your ideas, suggestions and concerns to the regular team meetings and join in on celebrations and special occasions.
