GHG accounting & Net Zero Consultant

Department: Climate & Nature Solutions : Advisory

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: United Kingdom

Description

We're looking for a Consultant / Analyst to join our Climate & Nature business line, working within the UK Greenhouse Gas Accounting & Net Zero Strategy team.

This is a client-facing delivery role supporting major sustainability projects, collaborating with Anthesis experts across our global practice and with fellow consultants, not only to deliver excellent work, but to develop new and innovative approaches to sustainability.

Anthesis exists to drive meaningful, measurable impact for clients. We're in a climate emergency, and we don't mess about: we push our clients to stretch beyond what feels easy or comfortable, because nothing less will do.

Pressure to decarbonise has never been higher, and doing it right starts with great data, expert analysis and evidence-led solutions. You'll work on market-leading projects spanning greenhouse gas inventories, science-based targets, climate transition plans and more, alongside a large team of experts in the UK and across our global practice.

We're seeking someone with a genuine passion for sustainability, an appetite to learn and a drive to have impact. You'll be a self-starter who can flex across client sectors and service areas to deliver excellence and value.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing calculations to assess greenhouse gas emissions, set decarbonisation targets, build decarbonisation trajectories and initiatives, and conduct other analytical tasks as required.
• Helping to write both technical and strategic reports, drawing on expertise from across the wider team and rest of the business.
• Supporting proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team.
• Supporting engagement of a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business.
• Delivering on multiple projects simultaneously, both independently and as part of a team, to meet tight deadlines whilst ensuring quality of delivery.
• Learning and developing your technical expertise, supported by senior colleagues across the business.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Relevant Bachelors/Master’s Degree. Ideally with a sustainability focus, but you should not hesitate to apply if you have studied in another discipline and have a personal passion for the sustainability space. • 1-2 years’ experience in relevant work or research position, or position with transferable skills
• Proficiency in Excel. Other analytical software is a plus.
• Demonstrable potential in client engagement and communication, and potential for developing consulting skills Attributes
• Team player with a passion for sustainability;
• Curious, globally minded and enthusiastic;
• A drive to develop your skillset and seek out development opportunities within a supportive team;
• Organised, methodical and analytical;
• Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment;
• Ability to work well with a wide range of people across our global network;
• Proactive, with the ability and confidence to use initiative;
• A professional manner that is appropriate for the specific client environment and circumstances.
