Description

What's the role?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Video Producer to join the team behind Australia’s most loved food brands: taste.com.au, Australia’s Best Recipes, and Kidspot Kitchen.

Reporting to the Commercial Food Director, you will be the creative and culinary force behind our sponsored video content. This is a true hybrid role requiring a unique blend of skills: you need to be a confident cook, a food stylist, an engaging on-camera presenter, and a savvy mobile videographer and editor.

You will manage multiple commercial campaigns simultaneously, seamlessly blending our editorial style and tone with client objectives to create high-performing recipe videos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end production of commercial recipe videos, including food preparation, styling, shooting, presenting, and editing.

  • Work closely with the commercial teams to interpret and execute client briefs, ensuring commercial demands and feedback are expertly balanced with engaging, high-quality content.

  • Shoot thumb-stopping food video content primarily using mobile phone setups, comfortably transitioning between our dedicated News Corp studio kitchens and your home kitchen setup.

  • Edit footage into polished, highly engaging short-form videos using Adobe Creative Suite (in particular Premiere Pro).

  • Act as on-camera talent and provide professional voiceovers for branded videos.

  • Manage multiple commercial client projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and to the highest standard.

  • Handle on-the-ground shoot logistics, including sourcing ingredients, shopping, and moving to and from shoot locations.

Who are you?

  • Culinary & Styling Expertise: You have extensive hands-on cooking experience and a meticulous eye for food styling. Formal culinary qualifications are not required, but a proven capability to make food look beautiful, accessible, and appetising on camera is essential. You will be a strong all-rounder cook with the ability to comfortably execute everything from snacks to party food and mains to dessert.

  • End-to-End Creator: Demonstrated experience in shooting high-quality food videos on a mobile phone including setting up multiple camera angles and basic lighting and audio, coupled with an engaging and natural on-camera presence.

  • Technical Editor: Highly proficient in video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and the wider Adobe Creative Suite, with a grasp of pacing, color grading, and audio mixing for digital platforms.

  • Commercially Aware: While you won't be pitching directly to clients, you are highly attuned to client demands. You can collaboratively navigate feedback via our commercial teams, pivot when needed, and find creative solutions that satisfy strict brand guidelines.

  • Highly Organised & Mobile: A proven ability to juggle multiple campaigns, prep lists, and shoot schedules in a fast-paced environment. You hold a valid driver's license and own a car to assist with moving equipment, shopping, and travelling between shoot locations.

  • Social Media and Trend Savvy: A strong understanding of current digital food trends, social media platforms and trends, and what makes branded content perform organically.
