Patient Registrar – NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Medical Group - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine– Full Time Days

Make a lasting impression on patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley as a Patient Registrar.  

In this role, you will navigation through our EMR to register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, obtain demographic details, insurance information and verification. You will ensure proper scheduling, record patient history and obtain pre-certification and authorization.

This is a full time Monday-Friday 40-hour work week.  Hours will vary as needed from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Must be willing to travel/provide coverage to Ortho department sites below and to help cover the other Hudson Valley Medical Group locations as needed.

Must be willing to travel/provide coverage across various Hudson Valley Medical Group locations listed above as needed.

Preferred Criteria

• Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology.

• Experience working in a busy out-patient practice.

• Orthopedics or Radiology experience.

• Knowledge of Coding: ICD 10, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements.

• EMR experience/EPIC

Required Criteria

• 1+ year of clerical experience.

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED

• Effective communication skills verbal and written.

• Superior Customer Service skills.

• Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first.

• Must be detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently.
