Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Walsall to assist with the appointment of a Tree Inspector, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £15.86 - £20.28 per hour
Summary:
The Tree Inspector will provide a specialist arboricultural service, with a strong focus on tree inspection, risk management and Urban Forestry. The role will involve surveying and maintaining the Council's tree stock and Tree Inventory database, advising customers on tree management and supporting the delivery of the Council's Urban Forestry Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day surveys of the Council's tree stock, including tree risk management assessments and prioritisation.
- Assist with the management, supervision and maintenance of the Council's Tree Risk Management programme.
- Survey and assess woodlands and assist with the preparation of management plans and funding bids.
- Make recommendations following appropriate inspections of high-amenity trees, in accordance with relevant national standards and local policies.
- Assist with arboricultural operations across the Council's geographical area.
- Represent the Council on arboricultural matters at public meetings, site inspections and consultations.
Qualification:
- Arboriculture – Level 3 Tree Inspection Certificate or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in an environmental discipline such as grounds maintenance/horticulture, green spaces or arboriculture.
- IOSH accreditation.
Essentials:
- Full UK Driving Licence, including Driver CPC
- Relevant professional experience within the arboriculture industry.
- Practical knowledge and experience of tree inspections, arboricultural practices and Urban Forestry.
- Strong understanding of tree risk management and arboricultural standards.
- Ability to conduct tree and woodland surveys and make appropriate recommendations.
