Assistant Manager, International Admissions

The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) is a dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive support across the entire student life cycle—from admission and matriculation to graduation and beyond the classroom. SASD works collaboratively with schools, colleges, and autonomous institutes to ensure a seamless and enriching academic journey for all students. 

This position sits with the Office of Admissions (OA) and supports the University in bringing in international students. This position also contributes to broader initiatives aimed at enhancing student experience, ensuring that every interaction—from inquiry to enrollment—is welcoming, efficient, and student-centered. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of the international admissions team. He/she will act as a bridge between partner institutions, government agencies, potential applicants, colleges, and administrative staff, ensuring smooth and efficient admissions processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Admissions application and selection

• Understand the education systems in new markets and propose admissions selection criteria based on market practices, intake targets, and applicant quality.

• Work with supervisors and schools to manage the issuance of offers, monitor acceptances, and handle appeals to meet the University’s mission. 

• Update and adhere to admissions policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

• Handle enquiries from prospective students, parents, schools, and education agents in a timely and professional manner.

• Contribute to projects and initiatives that support continuous improvement of admissions services and student experience.

2.    Partnership Management

• Engage principals and further education counselors of high school partners. 

• Establish and cultivate strong relationships with international high schools and education partners through regular engagement.

• Gather market intelligence on political, economic, or educational developments that could impact student recruitment.

• Execute market-specific outreach and recruitment activities.

3.    Marketing and Event Management

• Execute outreach activities for visiting partners in coordination with internal stakeholders  (e.g. liaising with centres/labs to on visits etc). 

• Host local and foreign visitors from partner institutions when they visit NTU and conduct admission talks.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that information provided in marketing collaterals are relevant, updated and available.

Requirements:

• Degree from any discipline, entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.

• Prior experience in admissions/ student recruitment and/or general administrative positions. Candidates with experience in planning executing outreach programmes would have an added advantage. 

• Ability to perform data analysis to interpret market information to support recruitment strategies and decision-making. Knowledge of Denodo and/or SQL, BI analytics would be an added advantage.

• Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• As the role involves conducting admission talks/events, the successful candidate must be comfortable with some level of public speaking (approximately 5 to 6 events per year with audience size ranging from 30 to 200). 

• Proactive, resourceful and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Occasional travelling required.
