Description
Who We Are!
🌍 Africa has the world’s youngest and fastest-growing population. By 2035, the continent is poised to contribute more young people to the global workforce each year than the rest of the world combined.
At Educate! we're obsessed with impact. We leverage iterative learning to build highly scalable youth employment solutions aimed at unlocking the potential of the world’s youngest continent.
Educate! prepares youth in Africa to learn, earn and thrive in today’s economy by:
- Introducing an employment-focused school subject into secondary and
- Delivering livelihood boot camps for out-of-school youth, with a focus on marginalized rural girls and young women.
To date, more than 500,000 youth have been meaningfully impacted across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania, and along the way, Educate! has become the largest youth employment and skills provider in East Africa.
Educate! is a team of over 300 largely African staff and 300 volunteer youth mentors. We prioritize building an engaging, fulfilling and growth oriented work environment. 50% of our top 30 leaders have been with us for over 5 years, 10+ alumni have started their own organizations, and 6 current or former team members were Acumen Fund East Africa fellows.
We have been backed by top foundations such as Imaginable Futures, Livelihood Impact Fund, Jack Dorsey’s #startsmall, CIFF and Echidna Giving. Educate! won a 2018 Klaus J. Jacobs Prize and a 2015 WISE Award, and has been highlighted by the World Bank’s S4YE's Impact Portfolio, an Al Jazeera documentary, BBC, The Brookings Institution as one of 14 case studies on scaling education, and the Gates Foundation as a Goalkeepers Accelerator. In 2022, we received a catalytic investment from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott to scale our systems change work.
Educate!'s long-term vision is to design solutions that measurably impact millions of youth across Africa each year.

Position Overview
Educate! is looking for a Partnerships Delivery & Communications Specialist to help us deepen our most strategic institutional relationships while building the communications infrastructure that fuels Educate!'s next phase of funding growth. You will lead an account-based approach to institutional partnerships communication by mapping stakeholder relationships, coordinating engagement touchpoints, and developing high-quality external materials. This role sits within Educate!'s External Relations team and reports to the Director of Institutional Partnerships.
The right person for this role is an exceptionally strong writer and communicator who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You bring both the relationship instincts to represent Educate! with credibility externally and the operational discipline to manage grant compliance, reporting deadlines, and cross-functional coordination. You are energized by the idea that the work you do today is laying the groundwork for transformational funding at scale.
What You’ll Do🌟
Tell Educate!’s story and build the systems to find it (35%)
You will make sure Educate!'s partners always feel the human reality behind our work.
- Craft compelling narratives: You are an expert storyteller. You lead with numbers, while also zooming in on the young woman in rural Tanzania who started a business, or the teacher who changed how she prepares students for life after school.
- Own a story sourcing system: work with in-country teams to surface compelling program insights
- Translate program evidence externally: Use program data and field narratives to create impact briefs, case studies, payer updates, and engagement materials that make our work vivid and credible.
- Move faster with AI: Leverage AI tools to accelerate content production, synthesize program data, and maintain consistent messaging quality across a high volume of outputs.
Deepen and activate Educate!’s most important payer relationships(30%)
You will ensure that every touchpoint on key accounts adds value and moves the relationship forward.
- Own account based marketing: Track engagement history, upcoming touchpoints, payer priorities, and next-step opportunities for top institutional partnerships
- Coordinate multi-partner communications: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create meeting agendas, partner updates, briefing reports, and government engagement materials
- Create moments that matter: Identify moments to strengthen relationships by sharing a relevant story, flagging a program milestone, or connecting partner interests to new developments in our work
- Support high-stakes engagement: Help senior leaders prepare for high-stakes partner conversations by developing briefing documents, talking points, follow-up materials, and post-meeting synthesis
Deliver world-class partner reporting and communication (20%)
You will turn required reporting into a showcase of Educate!'s impact, building partner confidence in what comes next
- Own compliance for key payers: Track reporting and communication deliverables, coordinate internal reviews, prepare reporting packages, and ensure submissions exceed payer expectations
- Build systems that never miss: Build AI-enabled reporting calendars, documentation standards, automated reminders, and shared tracking systems to ensure our payer communication is proactive and resilient rather than reactive and manual.
- Connect the dots across teams: Partner with finance and program teams to gather, synthesize, and package financial and narrative reporting data into polished, accurate submissions.
Drive outcomes through execution and proactive problem-solving (15%)
You will bring a startup mindset and operational discipline to move projects from idea to action.
- Develop recommendations: Approach operational bottlenecks or complex partner requests with a clear point of view and actionable solutions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment: Build consensus across teams and move conversations quickly toward decisions and execution without getting stuck in endless input loops.
- Set a high bar for excellence: Constantly innovate internal workflows, challenge the status quo, and ensure every piece of work reflects world-class quality.
Who You Are 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️
- You are a storyteller first. You instinctively look for the human narrative inside the data, and you know how to write in a way that moves people.
- You think in systems. You do not just complete tasks; you build the infrastructure so the task gets easier every time, and you reach for AI tools naturally as part of how you work.
- You are a proactive relationship manager. You do not wait for a report deadline to engage a payer. You are always thinking about the next touchpoint that will add value.
- You move from collaboration to action. You build alignment across teams and functions, and then you drive to outcomes. You know when to stop gathering input and make a call.
- You bring a recommendation, not just a question. When you come to a conversation with a problem, you come with a point of view on how to solve it.
- You are energized by mission. You care deeply about the young people Educate! serves, and that motivation shows in the standard you hold your work to.
