Media and Communications Officer

We're looking for a Media and Communications Officer to join Aussie Broadband on a 12-month maximum-term contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for communications, media, and storytelling to help share our stories, support media activity, and contribute to both internal and external communications.

This is a hybrid role, based in our Melbourne CBD office.

Let’s talk about you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, or similar, with relevant experience

• Experience in media relations, copywriting, and content creation

• Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape

• Excellent written communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Creative thinker with a proactive and innovative approach

• Understanding of Continuous Disclosure requirements

How will you support our “Why?”

• Create and share engaging content across media and internal communication channels

• Monitor media coverage and identify opportunities to promote the Aussie Broadband brand

• Support media relations activities, including journalist engagement and responding to enquiries

• Assist with award submissions and recognition opportunities

• Help coordinate internal communication initiatives, including employee stories and business updates

• Manage and facilitate internal engagement programs and events

• Build strong relationships across the business to uncover and share success stories

• Support the team with issues and crisis communications when required

• Contribute as a collaborative member of the broader Corporate Affairs team
