CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

When you become our Onboarding Project Manager, you'll be in charge of the clients' onboarding experience and ensure a smooth transition from initial implementation to ongoing system support. You'll work independently to manage a caseload of moderate-complexity implementations, so you'll need exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset. After contracts are signed, you'll walk new clients through our structured process to ensure a timely implementation, address potential risks, and grow their confidence in using the system.

You'll be the point of contact throughout the onboarding process, setting clear expectations during client kickoff meetings and providing regular project updates. It's important that we stick to the schedule, and you'll work with sales, training, payroll, tax, implementation, and support teams to manage risks, handle escalated situations, and keep projects on track. You'll check in with clients and internal teams throughout implementation to meet milestones and ensure timely go-live events. Throughout the project, you'll maintain detailed records to support a smooth handoff to the customer support team once ready. The Onboarding Project Manager also supports professional development by assisting less experienced PMs and contributing to more efficient onboarding processes.

YOU MIGHT BE A MATCH IF YOU HAVE...

• 2+ years of project management or implementation experience (ideally in a SaaS, HCM, or payroll environment)
• Proven ability to independently manage a full project load with minimal supervision
• Implementation methodology proficiency, realistic plan-building skills, and a working knowledge of workstream requirements
• Professional communication skills for engaging with clients, running kickoff/status meetings, and documenting decisions
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for independently resolving issues, identifying root causes of problems, and removing recurring blockers
• Ability to effectively navigate scope changes, shift go-live dates, and handle peak-season volume
• Track record of mentoring new team members, contributing to process improvements, and supporting positive culture
• CAPM (or an equivalent PMI credential) or ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire
• Willingness to complete internal onboarding methodology, product fundamentals, and client communication certifications within your first 6 – 12 months

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed some PMP coursework already or have experience managing multi-service/multi-entity implementations. Relevant certifications (payroll, benefits, time & attendance, Prosci Change Management, etc.) are also beneficial but not required.
