Short Description
The Orthopedic Technician supports the direct patient care clinical activity of the orthopedic surgeons and providers in the orthopedic ambulatory practices. The technologist is responsible to coordinate all activities related to casting, bracing, DME, wound care, suture/staple removal, order and maintaining of supplies, inventory, and care of equipment. Direct responsibility for application, removal and adjustment of casts and soft goods. Provides assistance to the medical staff with orthopedic procedures whenever needed to expedite the patient care process. Responsibilities include promoting patient education and safety, enhancing customer satisfaction, demonstrating understanding of resource utilization and completing all other duties as assigned.Education Requirements
HIGH SCHOOL OR GEDLicense/Certification Requirements
- Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology or Registered- Orthopedic Technologist training program, preferred.
Special Requirements
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
