Regulatory Lawyer Colombia

You will join a highly strategic Legal & Compliance team that plays a central role in enabling the company’s growth, regulatory integrity, and operational resilience. The team works closely with senior management, finance, risk, HR, and external regulators to ensure that all corporate, financial, and regulatory matters are handled with rigor, efficiency, and foresight.

• Support corporate, commercial, regulatory, technology, consumer protection, and contentious legal matters in a fast-paced, highly regulated fintech environment.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, corporate, and government-related contracts under tight timelines and within a growing and evolving business.
• Manage corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and labor law matters, ensuring alignment with local legislation and financial-sector regulations.
• Lead and coordinate regulatory matters before the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC), including regulatory filings, responses to supervisory requests, ongoing compliance obligations, and engagement with regulators.
• Support SAC (Financial Consumer Service System) processes, including the management and resolution of customer complaints, as well as consumer protection matters.
• Handle contentious and judicial matters, including administrative proceedings, lawsuits, constitutional actions (tutelas), and other judicial or regulatory proceedings.
• Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, and compliance risks, while helping prevent operational bottlenecks as the organization scales.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to provide timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice and support responsible business growth.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Law degree with strong experience in corporate, financial, and regulatory law, preferably within regulated industries (financial services, fintech, banking, insurance, or similar).
• Solid hands-on experience dealing with financial regulators, ideally the Colombian Financial Superintendence (SFC), including regulatory filings and supervisory processes.
• Proven ability to manage high workloads and complex legal matters in fast-paced, growing organizations.
• Strong expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, and employment-related legal matters.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate clearly with non-legal stakeholders, and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• A mindset focused on scalability, business continuity, and continuous improvement of legal processes.
• Experience or demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence, ideally within corporate governance or another relevant legal area.
• Conversational English.
