Eaton is seeking a Lead MES/Digital Manufacturing Business Analyst to partner with our electrical sector manufacturig siteThis position requires up to 25% travel.s.

As an experienced MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Business Analyst you will be bring strong hands-on manufacturing knowledge of Inductive Automation Ignition to support the design, enhancement, and deployment of MES-Lite software solutions across manufacturing sites as part of our Digital Manufacturing Tiger Team. Operating as a dedicated team member alongside the Tiger Team Leader and IT Project Manager/Scrum Master, the analyst serves as the critical bridge between manufacturing operations, IT/OT, and technical delivery teams—translating shopfloor and manufacturing needs into scalable, standardized MES capabilities. The role elicits and manages requirements, identifies opportunities for standardization and reuse across plants while balancing site-specific needs, and ensures solutions align with product strategy, architecture standards (ISA-95 / Unified Namespace), and cybersecurity requirements.

In this role you will:

A. Business Analysis & Requirements: Partner with manufacturing, operations, quality, and IT stakeholders to understand current-state processes (including current-state value stream maps) and future-state MES needs; elicit, document, and manage business and functional requirements for Ignition-based MES solutions.

B. Requirements Translation: Translate operational use cases into clear user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria; validate that requirements meet business objectives and are understandable to solution designers and developers.

C. Standardization & Reuse: Identify opportunities for standardization and solution-template reuse across plants while balancing site-specific needs, supporting a cohesive product strategy across growth sites.

D. MES & Ignition Solution Support: Support the configuration and deployment of Ignition MES modules—Production Dispatch & Execution, Production Tracking, Performance Analytics (OEE), Data Collection, Product Definition, Resource Management, Quality Execution, and Inventory Execution.

E. Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with technical teams on Ignition Perspective/Vision UI requirements, data modeling and tag structures (UNS), and integration with PLCs, historians, ERP (e.g., SAP, Mapics), and other boundary systems; validate alignment with product strategy, architecture standards, and cybersecurity requirements.

F. Validation & Adoption: Coordinate use cases and test scenarios with the customer to ensure end-to-end user acceptance testing is complete; support role-based training, super-users/SMEs, go-live (RAID log, hypercare), and post go-live stabilization to drive adoption from Day 1.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in manufacturing, industrial IT, or MES environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including production execution, OEE and performance metrics, downtime tracking, and quality processes.
  • Experience working in IT/OT integrated environments and translating complex shopfloor processes into clear requirements.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the El Paso, Texas location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Technical knowledge

  • Hands-on knowledge of Inductive Automation Ignition (Perspective and/or Vision) and Ignition MES modules.
  • Understanding of MES concepts and the ISA-95 / Unified Namespace (UNS) data model, including data modeling and tag structures.
  • Familiarity with Kepware / OPC UA connectivity and integration of MES with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid architectures and shopfloor/edge connectivity.
  • Experience in multi-site or global manufacturing programs; background in continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing preferred.

Soft skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; works regularly with business analysts, project managers, architects, developers, and plant/operations teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; able to lead workshops and influence across multiple plants and stakeholders.
