Role Summary

The Nutrition Product Sales Specialist - Similac Portfolio is responsible for driving sustainable business growth through scientific engagement with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), hospital account development, newborn and maternity pathway management, pharmacist advocacy, and execution excellence across the assigned territory.

The role combines the scientific credibility of a medical sales representative with the commercial accountability required to accelerate recommendation, recruitment, and consumption of Abbott's infant nutrition portfolio. The position plays a critical role in influencing infant feeding practices through ethical, compliant, and value-based engagement with pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians, maternity hospitals, nurses, pharmacists, and key healthcare stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Healthcare Professional Engagement

  • Promote Similac products to pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians/gynecologists, family physicians, dietitians, nurses, and other relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver scientific product presentations and educational activities aligned with Abbott's strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key HCPs and opinion leaders.
  • Increase recommendation and advocacy for Abbott's infant nutrition portfolio.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of brand strategies and territory plans.

Hospital & Maternity Account Development

  • Develop partnerships with hospitals, maternity centers, NICUs, and pediatric departments.
  • Drive newborn pathway programs and support appropriate infant nutrition practices.
  • Identify growth opportunities within strategic accounts and healthcare institutions.
  • Conduct account reviews and implement account-specific development plans.
  • Support hospital activation initiatives in line with applicable policies and regulations.

Pharmacy & Channel Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with pharmacists and pharmacy chains.
  • Enhance pharmacist knowledge of Similac products and appropriate consumer recommendation.
  • Support pharmacy activation initiatives and educational programs.

Territory & Business Development

  • Achieve sales, market share, and growth objectives within the assigned territory.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities while strengthening existing accounts.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and customer trends.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans to maximize return on investment.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and business insights through CRM tools.

Retail Execution & Availability

  • Work collaboratively with distributor and trade teams to support product availability across key outlets.
  • Monitor stock availability, distribution quality, and execution standards within priority accounts.
  • Identify and address business gaps affecting customer access and product availability.
  • Support implementation of promotional and visibility initiatives in accordance with company guidelines.

Compliance & Professional Excellence

  • Represent Abbott in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
  • Ensure full compliance with Abbott policies, local regulations, and industry codes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and CRM records.
  • Complete all required administrative tasks and reporting requirements on time.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Medical Sciences, Biology, or a related healthcare discipline.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in nutrition, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical related sales.
  • Experience promoting products to healthcare professionals is preferred.
  • Experience in pediatric, infant nutrition, maternal health, or hospital-focused selling is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Sales planning, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
