As the company continues to expand its presence in the Greater Philadelphia market, it is seeking a senior business leader to help drive long-term growth, strengthen client relationships, develop high-performing teams, and lead the overall performance of the business.

About the Position

The Business Leader will serve as a senior market leader with responsibility for the overall growth, profitability, people, and strategic direction of the business in the Greater Philadelphia area.

This individual will operate at the intersection of executive leadership, operations, business development, and client relationships. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the local construction market, an established network of industry relationships, and a proven ability to lead a large and complex construction business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams while ensuring the right people are in the right roles.
  • Recruit, retain, coach, and develop top construction and business-development talent.
  • Establish succession plans and develop the next generation of leaders.
  • Maintain accountability for safety, financial performance, client satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational results.
  • Develop and execute a strategic 3-year business plan for the Greater Philadelphia market.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, trade partners, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as a highly visible representative of the organization within the local market.
  • Identify and secure new clients and opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing strategic accounts.
  • Drive business development strategies, client capture plans, and account plans in partnership with the business development team.
  • Oversee a substantial backlog and identify opportunities to improve margins, mitigate risk, and strengthen overall financial performance.
  • Serve as a senior executive presence on key projects and client relationships.
  • Monitor competitive intelligence, market conditions, and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and work closely with operational and safety leadership to address performance issues.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership regarding market opportunities, investments, talent, and long-term growth.
  • Serve as a bridge between executive leadership and operational teams, ensuring alignment between company strategy and field execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15–20+ years of progressive construction management and business leadership experience.
  • Proven experience managing a $250M+ book of business or comparable scale of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex construction operations with responsibility for financial, safety, client, and people performance.
  • Strong understanding of the Greater Philadelphia construction market and established relationships within the regional industry.
  • Proven ability to develop business, secure new clients, and build long-term strategic relationships.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams through multiple levels of management.
  • Strong financial and technical acumen with the ability to understand and influence P&L performance.
  • Strategic, analytical, and structured approach to decision-making.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively with executive leadership while remaining connected to project and operational teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountability for results.
