Resident Assistant

Position Summary

The Resident Assistant provides compassionate, hands-on assistance to residents in an assisted living environment. This position is responsible for helping residents with activities of daily living, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and promoting residents' dignity, independence and overall well-being.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.

• Provide assistance with mobility, transfers and ambulation.

• Assist with incontinence care and regularly scheduled toileting.

• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.

• Assist residents with meals, hydration and daily activities.

• Observe and promptly report changes in residents' physical condition, behavior or mental status to the nurse or supervisor.

• Maintain clean and organized resident rooms. May assist housekeeping with tasks such as: making beds, changing linens, laundry, and performing light housekeeping.

• Document resident care and report pertinent information during shift changes.

• Follow established infection prevention, emergency and resident safety procedures.

• Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality and dignity.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Administrator.

  Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• CNA certification is welcome but not required.

• Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care or caregiving preferred but not required.

• Must be dependable, compassionate and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families and coworkers.
  
   

  Physical Requirements

  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, and assist residents with mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment and safe lifting procedures.

  Scheduling Requirements
  Hiring for Weekend 6am-2pm shift. Must be able to work Holidays as scheduled.
