Description
HR & People Operations Manager, VC-backed Tech Start-up, London (4 days in London / 1 day WFH), £75-£85k + Bonus + Private medical + bens
Want to build the people function of an ambitious technology company from the ground up?
A well-funded, VC-backed technology company is building a real-time logistics and decision intelligence platform. Following several years of research and development, the business is now entering a significant period of commercial delivery and growth.
The London team is small today, with engineering, QA and data hiring already underway and plans to grow significantly over the next 24 months. The next step is putting the recruitment; people processes and culture in place to support that growth.
Reporting to the COO, you will take ownership of HR & Business ops. You will improve how the company recruits and assesses people, build fantastic onboarding, develop the employee lifecycle and coach managers on feedback, performance and line management, to improve employee experience and retention, alongside project work with the COO for Business Operations
It is a role for someone comfortable working where things are not defined yet. You will bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy and proactively understand what the business and its people need.
Largely what you’ll be doing
- Owning recruitment and improving how people are hired and assessed
- Working with the leadership team to plan who needs to be hired, and when
- Building a strong onboarding experience for new starters
- Coaching managers on feedback, performance and good line management
- Helping build and maintain the company culture as the team grows
- Putting practical processes in place around development, retention and offboarding
- Improving communication and feedback across the business
- Building the HR policies and people processes needed as the company grows
- Supporting wider business operations and improving the processes that keep things running smoothly
Experience building HR or People Operations within a start-up or high-growth technology environment will be needed, particularly if you are comfortable creating processes from scratch
This is an opportunity to join a business early and play a defining role in the people and culture behind its growth.
