Position: Operations Lab Manager
Primary Location: Home based, USA
Reports to: UltraPure Acid Metrology and Sampling Technology Leader
Compensation: $180,000-190,000 + bonus + benefits. (salaried, exempt)
The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. About This Role and You
We are seeking an experienced manager to supervise UPA laboratory operations in Cairo, Ohio, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Riverton, Wyoming. This role includes providing technical leadership, managing suppliers for laboratory equipment, and engaging proactively with customers to ensure consistent, efficient performance across all laboratories. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Qualifications
- 10 years of direct semiconductor laboratory experience a plus
- ISO 17025 Experience
- Experience working with semiconductor customers
- Experience managing laboratory personnel
- Knowledge of laboratory tools, such as ICPMS, HPIC, and TOC at a minimum
- Understanding of Cleanroom Class Verification, Cleanroom Protocol, and requirements
- Experience and knowledge of understanding and translating customer requirements
- Experience in troubleshooting contamination issues.
- Willing to Travel to Laboratory Sites; travel up to 50%
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science related field.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills and a desire to participate in a highly competitive business endeavor requiring a high degree of quality.
- Experience leading and managing a large team.
- Excellent knowledge of quality management systems and processes,
- Strong customer focus, including leading customer resolution.
- Direct Chemical Manufacturing experience a plus
- A keen eye for detail and a result driven approach.
- Excellent team management, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience using Microsoft office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Automate, LIMs
- Kaizen, Quality System Six Sigma yellow belt or Green Belt a Plus
Personnel Management

Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all UPA laboratory locations.
- Implement standardized laboratory procedures at every site.
- Direct the management of laboratory equipment, maintenance, and vendor relationships.
- Develop and write laboratory procedures
- Serve as the primary technical contact for both internal and external customers.
- Monitor laboratory performance and initiate and lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
- Train and guide laboratory personnel in compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
- Ensure consistent data reporting practices across all laboratories.
- Administer the Change Control Process for laboratory modifications.
- Communicate customer requirements to laboratory teams.
- Support the implementation of LIMS across all locations.
- Define and execute Laboratory Goals/KPI’s to Drive Improvement
- Manage the Laboratory Business Continuity Plan.
- Lead the application of standardization tools throughout all laboratory sites.
- Ensure employees receive comprehensive training regarding equipment, and procedures
- Responsible for new tool Qualification including MSA’s
- Support Customer Qualification by analyzing and reporting data.
- Implementation of 6S across all Laboratories.
- Mentor/Supervise direct reports, coordinating and checking work activities as applicable.
- Communicates effectively and constructively with all teams to ensure alignment to direction and goals.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Tools to perform statistical data analysis.
