Job Description

What Impact You’ll Make  

 

As a Contract Management Intern on the Americas New Units Heavy Duty Gas Turbines Contract Management Team, you will be an active contributor to the team's efforts to protect GE Vernova's global commercial interests, drive cross-business contract compliance, and support the successful execution of multi-billion-dollar Heavy Duty Gas Turbine power plant projects. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Contract Management team in the analysis and interpretation of project-wise commercial issues from initial identification through final resolution.

  • Read, review, and interpret new power plant contracts with customers spread across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. 

  • Assist in the development of automated tools to streamline change order management processes. 

  • Support assigned contracts in execution, working closely with Contract Managers, Project Managers, and customers. 

  • Contribute to the preparation of contractual correspondence, including change orders, letters, and customer notifications. 

  • Assist in tracking and reporting on risk mitigation, vendor recovery, and commercial deliverables. 

  • Develop and deliver presentations on contract topics to internal stakeholders. 

  • Complete special projects as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team. 

  • Organize and maintain legacy contract documents and electronic files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Employment Dates:

May or June 2027 to August 2027 (Summer).

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Business, Engineering, Law, or a related field. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare detailed analyses and presentations. 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 

  • Problem-solving attitude, ready to work on high-level, complex problems while developing customer-centric GE Gas Power solutions. 
     

Eligibility Requirements 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship. 

  • Must be available to work onsite in Schenectady, NY for a 12-week Summer 2027 internship experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You have a passion for commercial contract management, energy infrastructure, or power generation and a curiosity for how complex projects are structured and executed. 

  • You have a passion for data-driven problem solving, including using tools like Excel or other platforms to build automated solutions that improve team efficiency. 

  • You are someone who brings strong attention to detail and organizational discipline, capable of managing and maintaining critical documentation with a high degree of accuracy. 

  • You are someone who communicates with confidence and clarity, both in writing and in presentations, and can translate complex commercial concepts for diverse audiences. 

  • You have experience with database management, contract analysis, or project coordination through coursework, prior internships, or extracurricular activities. 

  • You have experience working in cross-functional or team-based environments, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and stakeholders. 

  • You are eager to apply AI tools and emerging technologies to solve problems in a professional contract management setting.

The pay for this position ranges from $1,000 weekly to 2,000 weekly based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.

GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP): after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
