Description
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate batch processing equipment to produce safe, high-quality products at our Archbold, Ohio facility. You will prepare equipment for production, blend ingredients according to established recipes, monitor product quality and consistency, support efficient manufacturing operations, and maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. You will work closely with operations and quality teams to ensure production goals and quality expectations are achieved.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities
- Obtain production schedules, review work orders, gather required supplies and tools, complete production paperwork, and prepare equipment for operations.
- Set up and verify equipment controls, inspect equipment condition, perform pre-operational cleaning as needed, and support production startup activities.
- Open and close valves as required, activate steam systems and agitators, and prepare processing equipment for production cycles.
- Blend product batches according to approved recipes by accurately adding starches, flavorings, spices, oils, particulates, and hot water.
- Weigh ingredients, collect samples, monitor product quality, and make process adjustments to maintain recipe specifications and quality standards.
- Perform Bostwick consistency checks, submit samples to Quality Control, and monitor the transfer of finished batches to filling and finishing operations.
- Complete all required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot assigned equipment, clear jams, and reset equipment for new production runs as necessary.
- Follow established centerlines and assist with equipment changeovers to support operational efficiency.
- Report food safety, quality, and safety concerns to supervision immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing packaging materials, disposing of waste properly, and supporting sanitation efforts.
- Comply with all company safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, 5S standards, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Clean, sanitize, secure, and prepare equipment at the end of each shift.
- Lead by example and support a positive team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ingredients Required for Your Success
- Complete required chemical training and safely work with approved chemicals.
- Demonstrate strong organization and communication skills.
- Complete production records and required paperwork accurately.
- Take ownership of personal safety and contribute to a safe work environment for all team members.
- Be a motivated team player who collaborates effectively with coworkers.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
Physical Requirements
