Working across China and global engineering teams, the Solution Architect provides architectural direction, resolves complex system-level challenges and influences product and technology roadmaps through deep expertise, sound judgment and cross-functional collaboration.
ESSENTITAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Architecture
- Define end-to-end architectures for products, platforms and complex customer solutions across software, controls and electromechanical systems.
- Translate business and product needs into technical requirements, interfaces and scalable implementation approaches.
- Evaluate architecture trade-offs across performance, reliability, reuse, cost, cybersecurity and time to market.
Technical Leadership
- Lead architecture and design reviews, technical risk assessments and resolution of complex cross-domain issues.
- Provide technical direction and influence engineering decisions through expertise, collaboration and sound judgment.
- Drive root cause analysis and sustainable solutions for critical system, integration and reliability issues.
Product and Technology Strategy
- Partner with Product Management and engineering leaders to shape platform strategy and technology roadmaps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation, reuse, modularity and localization.
Global and Customer Collaboration
- Act as the architecture focal point across global, cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on interfaces, decisions and technical risks.
- Support technical discovery, solution definition and escalation discussions for strategic customer applications.
Engineering Excellence
- Establish architecture standards, reference designs and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers and drive improvements in software quality, system performance and development efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in software development, system architecture or complex product development within industrial automation, motion control, robotics, semiconductor equipment, scientific instrumentation or related industries.
- Proven experience defining and delivering system or solution architectures for software-intensive industrial equipment or electromechanical products.
- Strong expertise in software architecture, object-oriented design, API and interface definition, design patterns and engineering best practices, with hands-on experience in C#, .NET, C++, Python or comparable technologies.
- Strong system-level understanding of precision motion-control solutions, including controllers, drives, motors, encoders, sensors, positioning systems and control algorithms.
- Experience with industrial communication technologies such as EtherCAT, CAN, Modbus, serial communication, EtherNet/IP or TCP/IP.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound architecture decisions under ambiguity and to solve complex, cross-domain problems using structured analysis and root cause methodologies.
- Experience operating effectively in matrixed and global engineering environments and influencing senior stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
