Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a reliable Unarmed Security Officer to support staffing coverage across assigned locations in Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Grand Junction, Colorado.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and can adjust to changing schedules, different assignments, and location-specific procedures. Coverage may include vacant shifts, employee absences, planned time off, temporary staffing needs, and special assignments.

Success in this position requires punctuality, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions without needing constant supervision. Officers are expected to maintain consistent standards regardless of where they are assigned.
 

Key Responsibilities

Assignment Coverage

• Travel to designated work locations and arrive on time, prepared for the assigned shift.
• Fill staffing gaps caused by call-offs, vacations, open posts, and temporary coverage needs.
• Review assignment instructions and confirm post-specific expectations before starting duties.
• Adjust to changes in location, shift times, and responsibilities as operational needs arise.
• Maintain consistent performance and professional conduct across all assigned posts.
   

Patrol and Situational Awareness

• Complete foot patrols and routine security checks as directed by the assignment.
• Observe assigned areas for suspicious behavior, unusual activity, damage, and potential safety concerns.
• Recognize conditions that may require attention and promptly notify the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow established procedures when responding to incidents or requesting additional assistance.
• Remain attentive throughout the shift and perform assigned duties without unnecessary distractions.
   

Documentation and Shift Communication

• Record patrols, observations, and required checks accurately.
• Prepare clear incident reports when an event, concern, or unusual condition needs to be documented.
• Complete and submit required logs and reports within established deadlines.
• Communicate relevant information during shift changes or when moving between assignments.
• Protect sensitive information and handle documentation responsibly.
   

Professional Service and Conduct

• Interact respectfully with clients, employees, visitors, tenants, and members of the public.
• Respond to routine questions and requests within the limits of assigned duties.
• Refer concerns requiring additional authority or support to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow company policies, assignment-specific instructions, and established procedures.
• Represent Citadel Security USA with professionalism at every assigned location.
   

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work a variable schedule and provide coverage across multiple assigned locations.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and readiness to begin work at the scheduled time.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions and location-specific procedures.
• Ability to work independently while recognizing when supervisory assistance is needed.
• Willingness to adapt to changing assignments and staffing priorities.
• Ability to successfully complete the required background screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, patrol, or a related role.
• Customer service experience or experience working directly with the public.
• Familiarity with activity logs, patrol records, and incident documentation.
• Experience covering shifts at multiple work locations.
• Comfort working varied schedules and adjusting to changing operational requirements.
