Job Overview

The Senior Manager, EMEA Supply Chain Technology - Logistics is the accountable technology leader for the DePuy Synthes EMEA Deliver domain. The role owns the regional Deliver technology roadmap and ensures that logistics technology capabilities are reliable, secure, compliant, scalable and aligned with DePuy Synthes business priorities, EMEA operational needs and global Supply Chain Technology strategies.

The role partners with regional and global Supply Chain, Deliver, Technology, Digital, Architecture, Finance, Quality, Procurement and external logistics providers to translate business strategy into an integrated portfolio of technology investments, operational improvements and transformation outcomes. The Senior Manager balances transformation delivery with uninterrupted business operations and clear accountability for value realisation.

Leadership Profile

A strategic and pragmatic technology leader who combines business partnership with technical judgement, operational discipline and delivery accountability. The successful candidate is comfortable making trade-offs, creating clarity across organisational boundaries, developing talent and ensuring that transformation produces sustainable, measurable value without compromising service, compliance or continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy and Roadmap Ownership

·        Own and maintain the multi-year DePuy Synthes EMEA Deliver technology roadmap, aligned to the business strategy, network evolution, operational priorities and global technology direction.

·        Translate business capabilities and pain points into a prioritised, sequenced and funded portfolio with clear dependencies, decision points, risks and measurable outcomes.

·        Provide strategic direction across core logistics platforms, warehouse automation, data, integration and emerging digital capabilities.

Regional, Business Unit and Global Accountability

·        Serve as the primary technology partner for DePuy Synthes EMEA Deliver, with clear accountability for regional outcomes while operating within global product, platform, architecture, cybersecurity and compliance governance.

·        Clarify decision rights, ownership and handoffs across the regional business, DePuy Synthes, global Deliver, ERP and platform teams, and shared technology functions.

·        Represent EMEA priorities in global forums and ensure that global standards and roadmaps are adopted appropriately, with regional requirements and trade-offs made transparent.

Technology Ecosystem and Architecture

·        Provide end-to-end oversight of the EMEA Deliver technology ecosystem, including ERP, WMS, WCS/WES, TMS, warehouse automation, transportation, labelling, visibility, data and analytics, and internal and external integrations.

·        Partner with enterprise and solution architects to define target-state architecture, reduce fragmentation and technical debt, and ensure secure, scalable and supportable integration patterns.

·        Ensure roadmap alignment across transactional platforms, warehouse execution and control layers, automation equipment, data platforms, partner connectivity and related ecosystem services.

Operational Reliability and Lifecycle Ownership

·        Own technology service health and lifecycle performance across the regional Deliver landscape, including availability, resilience, supportability, capacity, obsolescence, cybersecurity, compliance and disaster-recovery readiness.

·        Establish proactive operational governance, service-level expectations, risk management, root-cause follow-through and lifecycle plans with product teams, service partners and site stakeholders.

·        Ensure critical incidents and recurring service issues are addressed with sustainable corrective actions, transparent communication and appropriate escalation.

Portfolio, Financial and Benefits Accountability

·        Own portfolio planning and prioritisation across run, lifecycle, compliance, growth and transformation demand, ensuring investment is aligned to strategic and operational value.

·        Develop and maintain business cases, funding plans and financial forecasts across CAPEX, OPEX and run costs, with disciplined tracking of commitments, risks and variances.

·        Define benefits, baselines and success measures at initiative level, and drive value-realisation reviews with business and Finance partners.

3PL and External Partner Technology Governance

·        Establish technology governance for 3PLs, logistics providers, automation partners and technology vendors, including architecture, integration, cybersecurity, compliance, service performance and lifecycle obligations.

·        Ensure contracts and operating models include clear technology responsibilities, service levels, data ownership, change controls, continuity requirements and exit or transition provisions.

·        Drive consistent standards and reusable integration approaches across partner-operated locations while recognising justified local requirements.

Transformation and Business Continuity

·        Lead technology delivery for major network, ERP, warehouse, automation, separation and logistics-transformation programmes, coordinating dependencies across regional, Business Unit and global teams.

·        Embed business continuity, cutover readiness, operational resilience and contingency planning into transformation design and execution.

·        Balance pace of change with safe operations, regulatory compliance and customer service continuity, ensuring that readiness and go-live decisions are evidence-based.

Leadership and Stakeholder Partnership

·        Lead and develop a high-performing team and partner network with clear goals, accountability, technical depth and a strong customer and business value orientation.

·        Influence senior business and technology stakeholders across a complex matrix, communicating choices, risks, investment needs and outcomes clearly.

·        Promote simplification, standardisation, reuse, data-driven decisions and responsible adoption of automation and AI-enabled capabilities.

Measurable Success Outcomes

·        An approved and actively governed EMEA Deliver technology roadmap aligned to DePuy Synthes, regional and global priorities.

·        Improved availability, resilience, cybersecurity, compliance and lifecycle health across business-critical logistics platforms and integrations.

·        Transformation milestones delivered to agreed scope, schedule and budget, with business continuity protected through transition and cutover.

·        Portfolio investments supported by transparent financials, prioritisation decisions, benefit baselines and tracked value realisation.

·        Reduced fragmentation, avoidable technical debt and duplication through architecture alignment, platform standardisation and reusable integration patterns.

·        Consistent 3PL and vendor technology governance, with clear service performance, risk ownership and lifecycle accountability.

·        Improved stakeholder confidence through timely decisions, transparent communication and measurable business, customer and operational outcomes.
