SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Helston & West Cornwall
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30
Start Date: November
Contract: Full Time, Long-Term, Permanent
Long Term Teachers are working closely with specialist schools across the West Cornwall area and are looking for committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team.
Long Term Teachers will be your employer, and you will work through us in one of our partner schools, with ongoing support from our experienced education recruitment team throughout your placement.
One of our current opportunities is within a large, purpose-built SEN school in Penzance, supporting students aged 2–19 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school operates across two well-equipped sites and provides an excellent learning environment, with specialist facilities, resources and equipment designed to support both students and staff.
Students learn through a range of sensory and experiential approaches, with touch, feel, play and practical activities playing an important part in their development. We are therefore looking for people who are empathetic, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Who Are We Looking For?
Empathetic, patient and emotionally resilient
Genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
Proactive, adaptable and able to remain calm under pressure
Comfortable working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team
Previous experience within SEN, education, care, support work or a similar environment is desirable but not essential
