Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented credit professional to join our Hong Kong Branch to safeguard asset quality across corporate and commercial banking portfolios. Reporting to the Head of Credit, this role primary focuses on credit administration, supplemented by credit evaluation and collections/recovery management.
Responsibilities:
- Review approved credit proposals, facility letters, and legal documentation prepared by Relationship Managers to verify compliance with approved terms and conditions.
- Oversee credit administration workflows, ensuring the perfection of collateral, mortgages, guarantees, and security instruments.
- Execute loan disbursements, input credit limits into customer ledgers, and manage drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, and redemptions.
- Monitor active client accounts to ensure operations remain within set limits and maintain safe-keeping of credit files and legal documents.
- Prepare MIS and portfolio risk reports for management review and maintain schedules for credit reviews.
- Perform periodic credit reviews on existing accounts to re-evaluate risk profiles.
- Formulate manageable payment arrangements for overdue clients and escalate high-risk accounts when necessary.
- Ensure strict adherence to HKMA regulatory guidelines, local legal requirements, and Head Office policies.
- Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and collaborate with business units on product papers, manage daily system administration for IIDS, TUCIS, CCRA and conduct UAT upon request.
Skills & Experience We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Core or Professional level qualification under the HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) for Banking Practitioners is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial/corporate banking experience across credit analysis, credit administration, or loan workout/recoveries.
- Sound understanding of commercial banking credit products, financial statement analysis, cash flow projections, and credit risk rating systems.
- Experience in handling MCRA, CCRA and IIDS reporting and daily administrative operations.
- In-depth knowledge of local HKMA regulatory requirements and legal debt recovery procedures in Hong Kong.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
