Health & Safety Advisor (HSE/EHS)

VF Corporation is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Distribution Center team in Almelo, the Netherlands.

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and compliant working environment within our Distribution Center in Almelo.

This is a hands-on HSE/EHS role, where you will work closely with employees and leaders on the warehouse floor. Your main focus will be Health & Safety, workplace risk management, incident prevention and regulatory compliance, while also supporting Security and Asset Protection activities on site.

Working closely with Operations, HR, Maintenance and EMEA stakeholders, you will turn safety requirements into practical solutions, identify risks and help strengthen a proactive safety culture across the Distribution Center.

How you will make a difference

• Perform the statutory duties of the Preventiemedewerker, including contributing to the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E), Plan of Action and implementation of preventive measures.
• Help ensure compliance with Dutch occupational Health & Safety legislation, including the Arbowet, applicable regulations and VF standards.
• Lead and coordinate risk assessments, workplace safety inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Identify workplace hazards and emerging risks and work with operational leaders to implement practical preventive measures.
• Coordinate Health & Safety audits and support emergency preparedness, incident management and timely closure of corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training and safety awareness initiatives for employees and managers.
• Partner with Operations, HR, Maintenance, employee representatives, occupational health services, contractors and external partners.
• Monitor Health & Safety performance and provide management with clear updates on incidents, risks, compliance requirements and mitigation actions.
• Support Security, Loss Prevention and Asset Protection activities, working with the on-site security provider and EMEA Asset Protection teams.

What you bring

• Relevant experience in Health & Safety, HSE, EHS, occupational safety or Arbo within a warehouse, logistics, distribution center, manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge and experience relevant to the responsibilities of a Preventiemedewerker, or willingness to complete the appropriate training.
• Working knowledge of Dutch occupational Health & Safety requirements, including the Arbowet and RI&E process.
• Practical experience with risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to spend time in the operational environment, working directly with employees and leaders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices constructively and influence change.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English is required.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and/or VCA is an advantage.
• Experience with Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, investigations or security vendor management is a plus.
