Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

Build cloud data solutions on Databricks for an international project of a global pharmaceutical company.

We are looking for a senior data engineer who will design, develop and maintain data solutions on the Databricks platform in an AWS cloud environment. You will work with PySpark and advanced SQL, shape data models and help ensure data quality and governance across the project. We are not looking for someone who only writes pipelines to a ready-made specification. We are looking for an independent specialist who understands data processes end to end, can turn business requirements into technical solutions and knows how to use AI-assisted coding to work faster and smarter. You will be part of an international, distributed team, working fully remotely from the Czech Republic.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Design, develop and optimise data solutions on the Databricks platform
• Process and transform data using PySpark and advanced SQL
• Design and evolve data models based on project needs
• Ensure data quality and support data governance practices
• Work with data infrastructure in the AWS environment
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Use AI tools and AI-assisted coding in development and optimisation
• Collaborate with international teams in a distributed environment

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• You have senior-level experience with Databricks
• You have hands-on experience with PySpark
• You have advanced knowledge of SQL
• You have experience with data modelling
• You understand data quality and data governance principles
• You have experience with the AWS cloud environment
• You actively use AI tools and AI-assisted coding in your work
• You can understand business requirements and have basic business analysis skills
• You communicate fluently in English (min. C1)
• You are based in the Czech Republic

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience in Life Sciences or knowledge of the pharmaceutical domain
• Experience with operations management
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps principles
• Experience with streaming data ingestion
