This high-impact transportation leadership opportunity will be based primarily on site in Conklin, New York, with travel to three or more domiciles across New York and Pennsylvania.

The selected leader will oversee a skilled transportation team consisting of more than 80 drivers, four supervisors, and supporting office staff. Approximately 75% of the managed fleet is based in Conklin, making this location the central hub of the operation.

We are seeking a hands-on, people-focused leader who is excited to drive change, strengthen operational performance, and build a culture of accountability. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coaching, training, and developing employees while implementing meaningful change-management initiatives across the transportation network.

Shift: Day - Morning and early evening hours should allow flexibility.

Ensure the most economical and effective mode of transportation and service provider are used while meeting all customer and company goals on service, compliance, and profitability. Responsible for taking on roles in customer service, operations, procurement, compliance, planning, and rate negotiation.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness
• Develop and implement sourcing, procurement, and operations strategies that result in the most efficient pick-up and delivery performance while maintaining peak profit margins
• Communicate and develop relationships with customers, carriers, and internal employees
• Ensure compliance with all regulations as an asset-based carrier while ensuring partner carriers are providing safe and secure transportation under the contractual terms and conditions set by the company
• Manage the review, audit, and approval of all freight invoices to ensure accurate processing and profitability while maintaining a satisfactory cash flow
• Collaborate with cross functional supply chain leaders to resolve issues and provide logistics related solution recommendations
• Manage and monitor Key Performance Indicators and cost factors impacting operational effectiveness

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

• Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• 2 years 3PL management, rate and contract negotiation experience within a Logistics function
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company policies, procedures, and agreements
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities
• Strong conflict management skills, including those involving sensitive and complex matters

Pay Range:$83,700.00 - $150,700.00
