Cook– Aged Care | Kandos
RSL LifeCare is a social purpose organisation providing leading aged care, retirement living, and veteran support services. With over 60 sites across NSW and the ACT, we are committed to empowering veterans and seniors to live their best lives with confidence.
We are currently seeking applications for a Cook to support our 19 bed Residential Aged Care facility in Kandos.

- Salary: Offering a pay rate of $33.05 per hour + 25% casual loading + 12% Super + Not-for-profit tax benefits - salary packaging of up to $31,800 per year
About the Role

- Preparation and service of meals ensuring nutritious and wholesome food and variety of food.
- Preparation of special diets and modified diets as required including low salt, diabetic, soft and pureed.
- Dishwashing and cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and dining areas.
- Preparation and service of meals for functions.
- In conjunction with the manager, assist with conducting quarterly internal Food Safety Audits as per Food Safety Plan.
- Support the food and supplies ordering process, receipting and financial reconciliation

About You

- Your demonstrated compassion and empathy. Our teams have a passion for what they do and the impact they make to our residents and their families.
- Your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to ensure the best possible resident experience and teamwork
- Your experience in catering to modified diets
- Your ability to work efficiently and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Current knowledge of Food Handling Legislative including HACCP requirements
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery
- Australian Working Rights

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
