DESCRIPTION
General Laborer will perform a variety of tasks as deemed necessary by the Fabrication and/or Assembly Supervisor. These duties include, but not limited to, Acid Wash, Blast Booth and Carpentry.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following...
Acid Wash
o Ability to perform acid washing with the use of phosphoric acid and neutralizer
o Ability to wear proper PPE as required
o Follow waste water treatment procedures
o Properly transact work orders to capture labor and costs
o Maintains a clean and safe work environment for self and coworkers
Blast Booth
o Ability to perform media blasting with the use of aluminum oxide
o Must pass the respirator test
o Ability to wear proper PPE as required
o Must fill out the Blast Booth Daily Maintenance Log
o Must be able to pick up and lift 80lb bags of sand
o Cleaning of the sand blast booth and around the Booth
o Must check the Sand Waste Barrel and report to Lead or supervisor that it needs to be emptied
o Must notify maintenance of needed repairs of hoses or equipment timely
o Maintenance of the filters and cleaning of the Grates in the booth
o Assist with maintaining the necessary sand count and notify the Lead or Supervisor if low
o Preparation of the parts prior to blasting. This includes taping and/or covering openings
o Blowing off parts prior to leaving the Booth, free of sand
o Clocking in and out of work orders and keeping the work orders with the right parts
o Must read and understand the Standard Operation Procedure prior to operating booth
Carpentry
o Ability to line custom magazines and boxes per print
o Ability to understand measuring devices such as tape measures
o Capable of building and documenting Domestic and International crates for shipping
o Ability to work with all pneumatic, electrical and hand tools
o Aptitude to operate: table saw, circular saw, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic staple gun, pneumatic pop rivet gun
o Ability to wear proper PPE as required
o Capable of applying caulk and silicone to ensure quality finish
o Properly transact work orders to capture labor and costs
o Maintains a clean and safe work environment for self and coworkers

EDUCATION and SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent
0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly Must be able to lift and transfer 80 pound bags of sand
Must be physically able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl and climb
Must be able to work at heights
Must be respirator certified to perform blast booth operations
