Manager - Transport

Lead and oversee end-to-end transport operations, ensuring operational KPIs are met while optimizing costs through effective planning and continuous improvement initiative

• Manage the day-to-day transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
• Develop transport plans and optimize delivery routes to maximize vehicle utilization and operational efficiency.
• Monitor daily dispatch, delivery schedules, and transport performance.
• Resolve operational issues and implement contingency plans to minimize service disruptions.
• Ensure transportation services meet customer expectations and business requirements.

Fleet & Vendor Management

• Oversee the performance and maintenance of company-owned and outsourced transport fleets.
• Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, roadworthy, licensed, and compliant with legal requirements.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transport contractors to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs to improve overall fleet performance.

Cost Control & Performance Management

• Develop and manage the transportation budget.
• Identify and implement initiatives to reduce transportation costs while maintaining service standards.
• Monitor and report key operational and financial KPIs.
• Analyze transport data and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop transport supervisors, planners, dispatchers, and drivers.
• Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure sufficient manpower planning to support business operations.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Promote safe driving practices and investigate transport incidents or accidents.
• Ensure all transportation records and documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Support internal and external audits related to transportation operations.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport efficiency, customer service, and cost performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve transport processes through technology, automation, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational excellence.
