Location: Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Virginia Travel: Must be available for CONUS and OCONUS travel

Position Summary: The Diving Operations Supply Technician Level III / Diving Maintenance Technician / 3M Work Center Supervisor Qualified serves as a critical member of the Naval Special Warfare Group Two (NSWG-2) Logistics Support Unit Two (LOGSU-2) Dive Department. This position provides logistics, inventory management, maintenance, procurement, and accountability support for Diving Life Support Systems (DLSS), diving equipment, repair parts, hazardous materials, and associated support equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Dive Department Work Center Supervisor in execution of maintenance, inventory, logistics, and procurement activities.
  • Forecast procurement requirements for preventive and corrective maintenance parts, equipment, and consumable supplies.
  • Manage inventory levels and accountability of Diving Life Support Systems (DLSS), maintenance parts, support equipment, and operational consumables.
  • Support the management and control of diving equipment repair parts, maintenance materials, and support inventories.
  • Maintain working knowledge of military logistics and supply processes including Government Purchase Card (GPC), MILSTRIP, contracts, blanket purchase agreements, and open-purchase procurement procedures.
  • Conduct research for equipment, repair parts, and supply requirements and prepare procurement documentation for review and approval.
  • Track requisition status, inventory levels, and procurement actions supporting Dive Department operations.
  • Maintain accountability of hazardous materials, Authorized User Lists (AUL), and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) libraries.
  • Ensure hazardous materials are properly stored, documented, and maintained in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with OPNAVINST 4790 requirements.
  • Maintain SCUBA systems, compressors, charging systems, regulators, buoyancy compensators, gauges, underwater communications equipment, full-face masks, and Diving Life Support Systems.
  • Conduct inventories of equipment, repair parts, maintenance materials, and operational supplies.
  • Support accountability and maintenance documentation within government inventory and maintenance management programs.
  • Generate inventory reports, maintenance records, accountability documentation, and procurement support documentation.
  • Support inspections, audits, inventory reconciliation efforts, and maintenance program reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Navy maintenance standards, 3M requirements, inventory management procedures, and Naval Special Warfare accountability requirements.
  • Qualification: Navy Dive School Certified (NEC 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or higher).
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience as a certified 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or higher diver.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of Naval Special Warfare (NSW) experience.
  • Qualification: Qualified as a Maintenance and Material Management (3M) Maintenance Person.
  • Qualification: Qualified as a 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman.
  • Qualification: Qualified as a 3M Work Center Supervisor.
  • Qualification: Qualified in accordance with NAVEDTRA 43910-H.
  • Certification: Factory-trained certification for diving equipment maintained within assigned inventory.
  • Certification: Diving Life Support Systems (DLSS) Re-Entry Control (REC) Supervisor qualification.
  • Certification: Oxygen Clean System Worker certification.
  • Experience: Experience supporting inventory management, logistics operations, procurement processes, and supply accountability programs.
  • Experience: Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on diving equipment and Diving Life Support Systems (DLSS).
  • Experience: Working knowledge of Government Purchase Card (GPC) programs, MILSTRIP requisition processes, contracts, blanket purchase agreements, or comparable military logistics procedures.
  • Experience: Experience maintaining hazardous material inventories, Authorized User Lists (AUL), and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs.
  • Certification: Must possess and maintain forklift certification up to 6,000-pound capacity.
  • Skills: Strong logistics management, inventory control, maintenance planning, accountability, and procurement coordination skills.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Clearance: Secret
  • U.S. citizen

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must accurately input and manage data across systems
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain installation access
  • Perform physically demanding inventory, maintenance, procurement, and logistics support activities.
  • Lift, carry, transport, inspect, and maintain diving equipment, tools, repair parts, compressed gas systems, and support equipment.
  • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in warehouses, maintenance facilities, piers, vessels, and maritime environments.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment up to 6,000-pound capacity.
  • Conduct maintenance and inventory activities in operational, maintenance, storage, and warehouse environments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
