Job Description:
Parsons is now hiring an experienced Principal Fire Protection BIM Specialist for our expanding portfolio of federal projects. This role focuses primarily on cost effective production of fire protection design deliverables including 3D models and drawings that comply with applicable codes and standards and contract requirements. In this position you will support a broad mix of US government projects across multiple Departments and Agencies.

You will work with design managers, architects, engineers, project managers, and construction managers to provide schedule, cost, budget, and risk expertise to strengthen delivering quality design on time and within budget.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Efficiently and accurately completes a variety of fire protection design assignments such as preparation of 3D models and drawings in Autodesk Revit and other design deliverables suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
- Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings and 3D models.
- Prepares engineering material quantity takeoffs.
- Interfaces with other Engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated design products.
- Provides technical guidance to lower-level CAD Drafters and 3D Model Designers.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Typically 12+ years of related work experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Proficiency in utilizing Autodesk Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with fire protection design is required.
- Familiarity of industry practices and regulations is required.
- Experience in fire suppression, fire detection and alarm systems, and life safety on US Government projects.

- Good interpersonal communication skills
- A thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
