About the role

The Airport Depot Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the airport fuel depot, ensuring adherence to all company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong focus on cost-conscious decision-making, risk management, and fostering a robust safety culture.

In this role You will

  • Lead and manage all aspects of depot operations, including fuel receipts, storage, quality control, and dispatch, ensuring compliance with established procedures and practices.
  • Implement and oversee the Control of Work system to guarantee safe execution of all maintenance and operational tasks.
  • Develop and manage the depot's operational budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring cost-conscious decision-making in all activities.
  • Oversee and coordinate all general maintenance activities at the depot, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.
  • Champion Safety Leadership within the depot, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring all personnel adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement effective Risk Management strategies to mitigate potential hazards and ensure operational integrity.
  • Plan, complete, and manage turnarounds and major maintenance activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all operational activities, including inventory, maintenance, safety incidents, and compliance documentation.
  • Develop and mentor depot staff, fostering a high-performance team environment.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., supply chain, engineering) and external stakeholders (e.g., airlines, regulatory bodies) as required.

What You will need to be successful

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within an aviation fuel depot or similar industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Control of Work principles and their practical application.
  • Strong financial competence with a track record of Cost-conscious decision-making and budget management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Maintenance general principles and guidelines.
  • Thorough understanding of operational Procedures and practices relevant to fuel storage and handling.
  • Demonstrable experience in ensuring Reliability general of sophisticated operational systems.
  • Extensive experience in Risk Management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Strong commitment to Safety Leadership and a proven track record to cultivate a strong safety culture.
  • Experience in planning and completing Turnaround general activities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or a degree in a related engineering or operations rigor is preferred
