The River Hospital Inpatient Unit is seeking Per Diem Nurse Assistants to join their team.
Job purpose
Attends to specific daily needs of the patients as delegated by the Charge Nurse. Responsible for clerical duties under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent, required
- Previous patient care experience as Nurse Aide/Assistant or equivalent. highly preferred
- Current BLS certification within 60 days of hire, (free classes offered onsite for employees)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft platforms: Word, Excel, Power Point
It is the employee’s responsibility to know the requirements for certification, limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.
Working conditions and Physical requirements
- Regular day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
- OSHA Category A – potential for exposure to blood and other infectious body substances.
- Bending, lifting, standing, walking, must possess the physical ability to perform CPR.
