Position Overview
The Assistant Department Produce Manager is responsible in supporting the direction and supervision by the Department Produce Manager in all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department; to ensure and support that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store.Job Description

Description
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- Assists the Department Produce Manager with the successful operation of the department
- Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided
- Shared responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the department
- Receives, stores, and stocks a wide variety of products
- Works directly with the Department Produce Manager in ordering product to meet the needs of the produce department based on past and projected sales
- Pulls out-of-date product from the produce areas
- Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
- Be actively involved with teaching, mentoring, and educating associates to help them be successful members of the team
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store Manager
- Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors
