Overview/Function: The Accounts Receivable EDI Clerk is responsible for ensuring timely payments for goods and services related to customers using electronic data interchange (EDI) for invoicing. This position is NOT a remote, work-from-home position, but location is flexible throughout our branch locations.

Major Responsibilities:
- Own collections/receivables for key customer and partner relationships using electronic data interchange (EDI) and other tools to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Action as the functional receivables team subject matter expert related to EDI processes, supporting teammates with their EDI accounts as needed.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve invoice-related EDI issues on existing customer accounts and onboard new customers. Provide support in testing, diagnosing, and re-transmitting data.
- Actively contact assigned customers regarding past due balances to facilitate payment.
- Use customer portals to file dispute claims as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from customers and internal teams regarding customer account activity and balances.
- Provide regular updates regarding past due accounts, collection efforts, and barriers to payment.
- Work collaboratively to execute Accounts Receivable functions, including covering backup duties for others out of the office.
- Provide backup admin support for other financial and office roles.
- Other related duties as required and assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of A/R or other relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to learn information systems and effectively coach others on EDI standards and processes.
- General understanding of accounting and general ledger entries. Strong attention to detail is required.
- Customer-focused with the ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers is essential.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to capably work in a team environment across multiple departments is also required.
- Strong problem-resolution and analytical thinking skills.
- Flexible attitude to thrive in an ever-changing business environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect confidential information.
- Good computer knowledge and strong MS Office skills is needed.
Additional:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position will be office-based, however may occasionally spend time at each of our facilities throughout the region or attend off-site events. A variety of physical abilities are needed, such as the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, kneel, and bend as needed. The ability to climb stairs, stand, walk, twist, grasp, reach, push, pull, sit, stoop, crouch, and climb is also required.
- Occasional day or overnight travel to branch locations may be required.
- The typical hours will be Monday-Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm) however some evening and weekend work may be required.
