The Role
The role combines operational management with transformation, offering the opportunity to influence how payroll is delivered across a growing international business.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and develop a global payroll function and operating model.
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure payroll is delivered accurately, on time and in line with local regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with external payroll providers and monitor service performance.
- Implement payroll processes, controls, governance frameworks and documentation.
- Drive payroll transformation, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support payroll audits, reporting obligations and compliance activities.
- Partner with HR, Finance and business stakeholders on payroll-related matters.
- Act as the escalation point for payroll queries and complex issues.
- Build and develop the payroll team as the function grows.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience managing multi-country payroll operations within a multinational environment.
- Experience establishing, centralising or transforming payroll functions.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, controls and governance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience managing outsourced payroll providers and third-party vendors.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with HR, Finance and business teams.
- Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms, such as Workday, ADP, SD Worx, Dayforce, SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle HCM.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Experience within a Shared Services Centre (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS) environment would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting payroll migrations, operating model changes or transformation programmes would be beneficial.
