Security Engineering Operations Coordinator

Role Purpose

This role supports the Security Engineering function by helping manage coordination, documentation, reporting and information flow across electronic and physical security activities.

Working closely with the National Manager, Security Engineering and the wider Security Engineering team, the role helps streamline day-to-day activities, simplify information management and improve visibility across workloads - enabling the team to focus on engineering outcomes, system performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Security Engineering team by coordinating routine activities, follow-ups and information requests.

• Assist with organising and tracking security engineering tasks, actions and deliverables to improve visibility and efficiency.

• Work alongside the National Manager, Security Engineering to prepare reports, summaries and briefing material.

• Help manage incoming requests and tasks, ensuring relevant information is captured and progressed appropriately.

• Prepare, update and maintain security-related documentation such as policies, procedures, standards, work instructions and templates.

• Ensure documents are accurate, consistent and managed in line with document control and governance requirements.

• Maintain SharePoint repositories, ensuring security documentation and records are current and easy to locate.

• Support reviews, audits and assurance activities by coordinating documentation and evidence.

• Maintain registers, schedules and records related to security engineering activities, assets and compliance.

• Produce regular and ad-hoc reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI to support workload tracking, performance monitoring and planning.

• Assist with presenting information clearly and concisely for a range of stakeholders.

• Work collaboratively with Security Engineers, Security Operations, Facilities, IT and service providers to support smooth coordination of activities.

• Respond to routine enquiries and requests, escalating technical matters to the appropriate team members when required.

• Support communication across the security engineering function by helping prepare updates, correspondence and shared materials.

• Assist with asset management activities, including maintaining asset registers, tracking security-related equipment and supporting lifecycle management processes.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in a coordination, administration or operational support role within security, engineering, facilities or a technical environment.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI and SharePoint.

• Experience preparing, updating and maintaining controlled documents such as policies and procedures.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities concurrently.

• High attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative working style.

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools, with a demonstrated willingness to further develop skills and drive adoption of emerging technologies.

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to electronic or physical security environments or projects.

• Experience working in regulated, compliance-focused or complex operational environments.

• Familiarity with document governance, audit support or reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in administration, coordination, security, facilities management or a related discipline.

• Willingness to build knowledge of electronic and physical security systems and security governance practices.
