M05 - Data Scientist

Overview

As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that improve public services delivering quality. You will work on high-impact AI initiatives while contributing to the advancement of data science capabilities and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end data science and AI solutions to address complex business challenges.
• Apply statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI techniques to solve real-world problems.
• Participate in the full project lifecycle, including problem definition, data exploration, model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project managers, data engineers, and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Ensure the quality, scalability, efficiency, and integrity of data science models and solutions.
• Contribute to technical standards, development processes, and best practices within the data science team.
• Review technical deliverables and provide guidance to maintain high engineering and analytical standards.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI, machine learning, and data science technologies, recommending innovative approaches where appropriate.
• Support project planning, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Data Science or Machine Learning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models using MLOps practices and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Solid knowledge of:
• Machine Learning and Deep Learning
• Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI
• Transformer models and Reinforcement Learning
• Neural embeddings and Vector Databases
• AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
• Statistical modelling and optimization techniques
• Experience with data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data transformation, relational databases, and SQL.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, R, and Shell scripting.
• Experience working with cloud-based AI and data platforms.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and data visualization skills.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams.
• Experience within the Singapore Public Sector or government agencies is an advantage.
